Listen to the explanation of the equipment, playing area boundaries and stop signal. Wait for the game supervisor’s signal to start.
Everyone plays for themselves. Stay within the agreed playing area, be considerate of others and follow your equipment's signals.
Stop shooting and follow the agreed route out of the active game. Tell the game supervisor straight away if there is a problem with your equipment.
The game supervisor checks the recorded result. Ask for an explanation if you do not understand a hit, finishing position or outcome.
For planning, allow around 20 minutes of play and around 30 minutes including the briefing and check-in. The actual playing time varies from round to round. If you are eliminated sooner, your active playing time ends sooner.
You pay €15 in bitcoin via Lightning per player per game. All players’ entry fees are collected in the in-game wallet for that game. LightningWars receives 10% of the total entry fees. The remaining 90% forms the prize wallet: the shared prize money for places 1, 2 and 3. Before paying, you see the exact entry amount in sats and the split of the prize wallet between the three podium places.
Entry costs €15 in bitcoin per player per game. You pay via Lightning. There is no separate fee for running the activity; the 10% for LightningWars comes out of the entry fees.
The players in places 1, 2 and 3 share the balance in the prize wallet: 90% of the total entry fees. Four players each paying €15 in bitcoin contribute the equivalent of €60: €6 for LightningWars and €54 for the prize wallet. A prize is not guaranteed. Even a podium prize may be lower than your entry fee.
At check-in, your Lightning Address is scanned, linked to your player profile and checked. Once the result has been checked, the players in places 1, 2 and 3 receive their share of the prize wallet. Each payout is sent via Lightning to the player’s Lightning address, checked at check-in. A hit does not take bitcoin out of your personal wallet.
You check in and pay for the game at the venue. You can use this website to ask questions or express interest; you do not link a wallet or receive a payout here.
If equipment fails or a situation becomes unsafe, stop and follow the game supervisor’s instructions. Do not keep playing while the situation is being assessed.
Before a paid round, also ask about the arrangements for ties, simultaneous eliminations or interruptions. These determine whether a round counts and what happens to the entry fees and prize wallet.
The game supervisor checks the result before your finishing position, prize or achievement is final. A result still being checked does not count yet.
At the venue? Speak to the game supervisor and explain which game and incident you mean, so the situation can be checked.
Sats are small units of bitcoin. Bitcoin prizes can be shown in sats.
Lightning is a network for bitcoin payments. A Lightning wallet is an app that lets you send and receive bitcoin through that network.
Your Lightning Address is the receiving address for any bitcoin prize. At check-in, the address from your mobile wallet is scanned, linked to your player profile and checked.
You do not need a wallet to ask for information or express interest. To play, bring a charged phone and a suitable Lightning wallet with enough bitcoin. Ask for help before your game date if you are unsure about your wallet or receiving address.
Stay within the playing area, do not aim at people outside the game and stop at the stop signal. Report hazards, physical discomfort or equipment problems to the game supervisor immediately.
